!!!!!!!! $15,000.00 PLUS IN PRIZE MONEY !!!!!!!! **Host motel & rules/payout info listed bottom of page. UPDATE: DRIVERS MEETING WILL BE AT 6:30 ON FRIDAY, AND 6PM ON SATURDAY! YOU MUST MAKE THE MEETINGS, AND BE TECHED BY THIS TIME TO COMPETE. IF FOR ANY REASON YOU HAVE A BREAKDOWN IN ROUTE, COMMUNICATE WITH SOMEONE IN YOUR CLASS SO WE CAN BE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. WE ARE ONCE AGAIN HEARING FROM A LARGE NUMBER OF TRUCKS AND WANT TO DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER FOR AN ON TIME START BOTH NIGHTS. THANKS, TEAM MOTORJAM WISHES EVERYONE SAFE TRAVEL TO NACOGDOCHES! Welcome to the 7th Annual Great Texas Mud Race in beautiful Nacogdoches Texas! GTMR Vll would like to once again welcome the hundreds of racers & thousands of fans that make this the awesome event that it is. The GTMR will be held at the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center Fairgrounds and feature side by side mud drag racing, and mud bog racing tracks. Watch the site for info & updates, including host motel info & show schedule. Racers!!! We increased the purse in 2009, and as promised are doing so again for 2010! This years event will feature a $15,000.00 plus prize purse - Guaranteed! The 2010 class & purse info is posted below. While there were no rule changes for 2010, we have restructured a couple of classes, and added a new class, Outlaw Bog! We also closely examined the level of participation in the classes in 2009, and added purse money accordingly. While money was added to ALL classes, even more money was added to those classes with a large number of entry’s. We want to thank ALL classes for their continued support of the Great Texas Mud Race. RULES, RULES, RULES…while we have received a lot of positive comments regarding rules, and what rules to go with, we have decided to leave ours, as is for 2010. If all of the participants that support this event can come to a consensus, and support a uniform set of rules that they would like to see followed at this event every year, man we are all about that. There is nothing worse than tracks constantly changing their rules! If & when we do change ours, it will be done at least 6 months out to allow time for any changes. Running Multiple Classes - I use to race in more than one class. No problem with it, as long as you are LEGAL for that class! We never dropped down however, just bumped up to see how close we were to competing against the next class above ours. There are of course many opinions on this subject. At this late date, we will still allow a vehicle to run in more than one class. If done properly, and legally, this is something a lot of race teams look forward to, especially those traveling long distances to compete. We can look at this for 2011 along with any possible rule changes. IF you are considering running more than one class, you WILL be 100% legal for each class. While some ‘gray’ areas are overlooked on 99% of the competitors out there, there will be ZERO tolerance for a competitor that is considered to be moving ‘down’ in class. In other words, no more ‘class killers.’ DAY OF EVENT - Racers, please arrive in a timely manor on Friday! This is for everyone’s benefit. We are increasing our staff dramatically to insure a smooth running event, but we need your help as well. We MUST shut registration down no later than 6:30 at the very latest to insure an on time start. Plan ahead. If for any reason, you see you will be running later than 6:30, your only option is to have someone else pre register for you. And then the vehicle has to be teched, if it cannot be teched due to the late arrival, you will not be able to run on Friday, but you will be able to run on Saturday. PARKING & PITTING - As mentioned, we will be bringing on increased staffing for this years competition. This is being done primarily for the racers convenience, and the spectators safety. There will be grounds maps posted at registration that will show the camping area layout, and how parking will be done. ALSO, we will have a designated STAGING AREA that each class will assemble in prior to running. It will be the competitors responsibility to be in that area when his class is up. Staff will make no effort to locate those that are not ready. ALCOHOL - THERE IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY IN EFFECT FOR COMPETITORS DRINKING AT ANY TIME PRIOR TO THEM COMPETING. YOU, AND THE VEHICLE WILL BE DISQUALIFIED WITH NO ENTRY REFUND. THIS GOES FOR ALL CLASSES! ALSO, NO LOOSE MATERIALS, ESPECIALLY BEER CANS IN A COMPETITION VEHICLE DURING COMPETITION, THIS TO WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION. IT MAKES OUR SPORT LOOK REAL PROFESSIONAL WHEN SPECTATORS, INCLUDING KIDS SEE A BUNCH OF BEER CANS BOUNCING AROUND IN THE BED OF A TRUCK, OR WORSE YET SPILLING OUT OF THE BACK OF AN OVERTURNED VEHICLE ON THE TRACK. WE WILL SHOULDER THE BLAME FOR EVER ALLOWING A VEHICLE TO RACE UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES IN THE PAST, BUT THOSE DAYS ARE OVER. *There will be on site rules & info distributed upon arrival that will help everyone out in making for a smooth running, safe event. Watch for ‘Host Motel’ info to be posted in just a few days. We look forward to seeing everyone at the 2010 Great Texas Mud Race! If you have any questions or concerns, our contact info is on the Contact Us page. Host Motel Info: The Best Western Northpark Inn & Suites is blocking off rooms for racers, and offering a discounted rate of 62.99 King & 65.00 Double. (936) 560-1906. You MUST tell them you are booking with The Great Texas Mud Race to get this rate. This is the closest motel to the venue, and the rooms are well kept. We absolutely DO NOT recommend the Econo Lodge. When the Best Western fills up, we also recommend the Holiday Inn Express, rooms are somewhat higher, nice motel. The actual competition will start at 7:30pm. We are asking all competitors to be on site by 5pm. With gates opening at 5:30, we need to cut down on congestion at the gate.
Thanks

Dennis your mud races are the greatest and you support the sport well. But you need to bring a race further north. There were plans for one in Texarkana last year, what happened? How about one along I-30 close to maybe Sulphur Springs, which would be close enough for folks from DFW area to attend. Look into that market….up tapped for this sport for many years.

Will there be a DOT unlimited class this year? It seemed to be a very popular class last year.

Would y’all be willing to post the final results and times (like maybe the top 5 in each class)? I was there Friday but couldn’t make it on Saturday (stupid work!). Really enjoyed it!

well, it’s been a little more than a year since the nite of my crash in lufkin and another racing season past. i just wanted to say thanks to every fan, racer and all the motor jam crew that has been beside me for encouragement through the most difficult time in my life. without all the people that came to the hospital, cards and letters from so many people across the united states, the will to fight would not have happened. with that being said, i want to thank everyone again.
